God+You+Me are Pieces of the Puzzle, working together, to share the Good News with others!

Matt. 28:19&20~"Go, make disciples of ALL the nations ~ teach them to obey all the commands I have given..."

Our response to His command can be only one of 3: to Go, to Send Others, or to Disobey. (John Piper)

In the spring of 2010, I spent 7 weeks in Oaxaca, Mexico, as a volunteer teacher at a school for children of missionaries. God opened the door for me to return for the 2010-2011 school year.

If you click on posts from January - March of 2010, you'll see posts on the lessons I'm learning on patience & vision.

Posts from April 2010 - June of 2011, are about daily life in Oaxaca,
including pictures of the food, the people, & the most memorable moments of my experience.

Working With All Your Might

From March 1, 2011
I came across another Ralph Waldo Emerson quote today that I really like. It says, “Enthusiasm is the mother of effort, and without it nothing great was ever achieved.”  Enthusiasm is so important for a teacher to have ~ what you're excited about, the kids will more likely want to learn about...

This quote reminded me of one of my favorite verses from Colossians. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for others. You know you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as your reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” (Chapter 3, Verses 23 & 24)

This passage of Scripture has always been a challenge for me. It is so easy to fall into doing what I do to please others – my parents, my boss, the parents of my students… I have to constantly remind myself that it is not about me! It is not about other people noticing my efforts! I need to be seeking the approval of God alone, to find my fulfillment in Him…
